Student Association sponsors forum on emerging church Rust Auditorium on the Glenside, Pennsylvania campus was packed out October 26-28 with students from Westminster, Biblical Seminary, Lancaster Bible College, and other guests for "Eternal Word in an 'Emerging World'? An Emerging Church Forum,” organized and sponsored by the Student Association. The stated purpose of the event was to “bring together diverse views for dialogue” and to “explore the challenges and opportunities presented by the emerging church.” Keynote speakers included Dr. Scot McKnight on “What is the emerging church?” and Dr. Michael Horton on “How should Reformed theology respond to the cultural challenges of the 21st century?” Visit our website for links to purchase audio CDs and read student blogs on the event. Dr. Tim Witmer to be inauguratedOn November 29, Westminster will inaugurate Timothy Z. Witmer, D.Min., as professor of practical theology. The ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. in Rust Auditorium, Van Til Hall, on the Glenside, Pennsylvania campus. Join us! Dr. Witmer is a graduate of West Chester University, Westminster, and Reformed Theological Seminary. He is pastor of Crossroads Community Church, and coordinator of the practical theology department and director of the Mentored Ministry program at Westminster. He joined the faculty in 1997.
