April eNews from Westminster Theological Seminary Immigration and the church As the U.S. Senate debates immigration issues, the worldwide church struggles with globalization. In this article from Westminster's faculty archive, professor and former missionary John Leonard offers biblical insights on "The Church Between Cultures: Rethinking the Church in Light of the Globalization of Immigration." On campus In the last few weeks, Westminster's Philadelphia campus hosted the annual meeting of the Eastern Region of the Evangelical Theological Society (March 24); a reading and Q&A with author Carolyn Custis James (March 25); and the Missionary Baptist Pastors' Conference (March 28). March 30 was Westminster's annual Culture Night, where friends from local churches joined our international student body for fellowship, ethnic food, and cultural presentations. On April 19, the Old Testament department will sponsor a special guest lecture by Dr. Christopher Seitz, professor of Old Testament and theological studies at St. Andrew's University, Scotland. Dr. Seitz will address the topic: "'We are Not Prophets or Apostles': Christian Identification with New Testament Reading of the Old Testament." Free; no registration required.
