Faculty promoted 

     Westminster's Board of Trustees has conferred the title of emeritus to Professor of Practical Theology John Bettler, effective July 1, 2006.  A former pastor, Bettler has been director of The Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation, Glenside, Pennsylvania, since 1974, and has served the Seminary with distinction since 1976.

     J. Alan Groves, professor of Old Testament and interim vice president for academic affairs, has received a permanent appointment as vice president for academic affairs, also effective July 1.  He is also executive director of the Westminster Hebrew Institute and has served on the faculty and administration since 1982.

 

Rookmaaker review  Professor of Apologetics William Edgar was a student and friend of Dutch art historian Hans Rookmaaker.  Recently, the six volumes of Rookmaaker's Complete Works were released by Piquant.  Read Professor Edgar's review article "'Why All This?'  Rediscovering the Witness of Hans Rookmaaker" in the current issue of Books & Culture.

     Master-level applications for 2006-2007 are due February 16 for International applicants (who require a student via) and March 1 for U.S. applicants.  (Th.M./Ph.D. are now closed.)  Application forms are available online.

Faculty bibliography: Cornelius Van Til  Since our founding, Westminster's faculty have been gifted teacher-scholars who extend the realms of theological understanding.  Many past and present professors are prolific authors, including founding faculty member Cornelius Van Til, professor of apologetics, 1929-1972.  Visit Westminster Bookstore online to browse a list of Professor Van Til's works still in print.
